Executive Producer
Mercurial Dance are seeking an Executive Producer for Arts and Game Development projects for 2 days per week to support on EmbodyXR and strategic company development of new game IP and new touring dance performance.
Job Role Overview: As the Executive Producer, you will play a key leadership role in the strategic development of the company, with a primary focus on the ongoing development of the EmbodyXR app and the execution of future touring projects. You will be responsible for securing financial partnerships, overseeing operations, and ensuring successful project delivery from concept to completion. You will also have a crucial role in building strategic partnerships with both artistic and academic collaborators.

About EmbodyXR®
EmbodyXR® is an immersive Virtual Reality dance art experience, aimed at raising mental health awareness & mitigating anxiety in Young People aged 13-25. Having delivered a Midlands regional tour of our headset experience across Coventry, Nuneaton, Leicester & Birmingham, we are moving onto the next phase of the project to develop a companion smartphone app. We are seeking a talented and experienced Producer/Project Manager to lead this next phase of development.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Creative Director & CEO, Oliver Scott, to deliver on project outcomes, aligning creative vision with operational strategy.
Lead and manage the strategic development of the company, focusing on securing investment and funding for ongoing and future projects (e.g., UKRI, Arts Council, and other public funding sources).
Oversee partnership development with a wide range of collaborators, including academic institutions, arts organisations, and technology partners.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring projects run smoothly, on time, and within budget, through efficient project management and logistics coordination.
Manage project budgets in collaboration with the CEO, ensuring financial resources are optimally allocated.
Ensure that project documentation, including funder reports, project milestones, and media assets, are completed and delivered on time.
Support communication and marketing strategies in collaboration with the marketing team, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
Contribute to the long-term development of the company's mission and vision by taking on additional responsibilities as needed across other projects and initiatives.
Experience and Skills:
Project Leadership and Management:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing projects end-to-end, preferably within the arts, digital media, or game development sectors, with a proven ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects.
Demonstrable experience in planning, executing, and overseeing successful projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
Experience in Start-up/Scale-up Phases:
Prior experience working with game or technology startups, particularly during the scale-up phase of a small-to-medium enterprise (SME), including navigating early-stage growth challenges.
Strategic Partnership Development:
Proven ability to build and nurture long-term relationships with a diverse range of partners, including academic collaborators, artists, and industry leaders.
Funding and Financial Acumen:
Experience in securing innovation funding and grant writing, particularly for UKRI, Arts Council, or similar funding bodies.
Budget management experience, including tracking financial performance against milestones, is advantageous but not essential.
Project Scheduling and Milestone Management:
Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience in monitoring schedules, managing logistics, and ensuring projects meet key deliverables.
Collaborative Team Player:
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse, multidisciplinary team. Experience in fostering a creative, supportive work environment is essential.
Diversity and Community Engagement:
Experience working with a diverse range of communities and artists, with a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within projects.
Marketing and Communication Knowledge:
Understanding of marketing strategies and how to effectively integrate them into company and project work. Experience supporting or coordinating with marketing teams or officers.
Arts Sector Knowledge:
A solid understanding of the arts sector, particularly regarding funding mechanisms, key stakeholders, and emerging trends in the cultural and creative industries.
Personal Attributes:
A passion for creativity, innovation, and the intersection between arts and technology.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
