Audition: Call out for graduate/final year dance students

RETOLD – Coventry Evening Telegraph

What is RETOLD?

RETOLD is Mercurial Dance’s latest large-scale site-specific project taking place in the old Coventry Telegraph building in July 2018.

The audience will be invited to fully immerse themselves in a journey through the Coventry Telegraph building, bought alive by a large scale professional and community cast, through transformative theatrical staging. They will be led through a number of the building’s different spaces via a narrative, incorporating text, movement and sound. The journey will move audiences from thinking about real life Coventry Stories/Stories from the news and the building, to feeling the emotions behind such stories represented through more abstract theatre and movement.

This role is suitable for 3rd year dance students or new dance graduates. We are looking for dancers/performers who can join an ensemble cast.  Your will perform throughout the live performance, be confident with text, improvisation and audience participation, support the collection of audiences stories within the city, and contribute collaboratively to the creation process.
